Bathroom
Cleaning your bathtub or shower of soap residue and grime can seem like a time-consuming task.
To cut the time you spend cleaning your bathroom in half introduce a Susi’s Scrubber Bathroom Scrubber into your bathroom. It is a handmade product designed and made by an owner of a cleaning company – you’re guaranteed to be in good hands.
The scrubber is made up of four layers of cleaning material, with two different cleaning sides. One is only slightly scratchy and gentle on services, and the other is fully scratchy to help to quickly remove tough dirt and soap residue without damaging services.
To use the scrubber, simply place a few drops of a homemade solution or natural dish soap onto the scrubber and you are ready to go!
The scrubber also comes with a handy hook, which allows you to hang the scrubber up to dry after use, so it will dry quickly and be ready for its next use. To shop the bathroom scrubber, click here.
Kitchen
The kitchen is the place where you prepare and eat food, so it is essential that this room is kept clean and hygienic. This room is also known for where the most waste can occur, to resolve this issue I would recommend introducing two Susi’s Scrubber products to your kitchen.
The first is for your kitchen surfaces, the scrubber will allow you to wipe away stubborn dirt without damaging your services. This scrubber will replace disposable wipes or budget sponges that you need to constantly replace.
The second product is a scrubber for your food, to wash your fresh fruit and vegetables with ease. This will replace one-use paper towels. The best thing about the handmade scrubber is that it does not hold onto odours from food or leftovers, like standard dishcloths seem to do.
The scrubbers also come in various colours such as green, orange and black, which means you can color co-ordinate which one is for which job – organisation in your kitchen is key. To shop the kitchen scrubber, click here.
DIY Solutions
Use the scrubbers from Susi’s Scrubbers that I mentioned above alongside these natural DIY solutions.
Glass Cleaner
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups of white distilled vinegar or apple cider vinegar
- ½ cup of water
- 8 drops of clove essential oil
- 1 tablespoon of corn starch
How To Use:
This solution can be used in the bathroom or kitchen. To use the glass cleaner, first, combine all the ingredients and using a funnelled beaker pour the formula into a spray bottle.
Next, spray a couple of sprays on the designated area that you are cleaning and use the scrubber to gently buff away any dirt and residue.
The Benefits:
- The acid that comes from the vinegar helps to disinfect the surfaces and provide a deep clean.
- Clove kills viruses and bacteria.
Bathroom / Tile Scrub
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of baking soda
- 50ml of liquid soap
- ¼ cup of white vinegar
- ½ cup of water
- 6 drops of lemon oil
How To Use:
Mix your ingredients in a bowl to form a liquid-like paste. If you are not a fan of the lemon scent you could swap it for another oil, lavender is a popular one for the bathroom.
To use the scrub, apply a small amount of the product to the scrubber and begin to work your away across the tiles, scrubbing hard enough to remove dirt and gentle enough not to cause damage. After you have scrubbed all the tiles, rinse them down and dry them with a microfibre cloth to avoid watermarks being left on your tiles.
The Benefits:
- Helps to remove grout.
- The formula will leave your bathroom tiles glimmering.
- The lemon oil scent will overpower the vinegar smell, leaving you with a fresh scented bathroom.
All-Purpose Cleaning Spray
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of white vinegar
- 4 ½ cups of water
- 8 drops of an essential oil
How To Use:
This formula can be used to clean all your home surfaces. Measure and combine the ingredients and pour them into a spray bottle. Spray on the surfaces and you are ready to scrub away!
When you’re using the scrubber alongside this formula be mindful of how delicate the surface is and choose the gentler or fully scratchy side dependant on your judgement.
The Benefits:
- It is a non-toxic formula that will not be harmful to yourself, children or animals.
- It is a cheap formula to produce – this could lead to you saving money on cleaning products annually.
Oven Cleaner (Baking Soda Paste)
Ingredients:
- ½ cup of baking soda
- 4 tablespoons of water
How To Use:
A very simple yet effective recipe that is made up of just two ingredients, which you are very likely to already have in your home. Combine the ingredients to form a thick paste, apply the paste to the oven, applying extra to the areas with visible grime.
Allow the paste to sit for two hours, before using the scrubber to lift away the dirt. If any residue happens to be left behind and is still tough to budge, simply apply water to these areas to lift it away.
I would recommend doing this deep clean of your oven once a month to maintain a sparkling clean oven.
The Benefits:
- After applying the paste to the oven and leaving it to work its magic for two hours, it will help to easily lift hard grime.
- A quick and effective method.
After all that cleaning advice, you are probably wondering how to wash your scrubbers ready for the next job. I am pleased to let you know that it isn’t time-consuming at all.
To clean your scrubbers simply soak in warm water for a few minutes (soapy water if they have become dirty), before rinsing the excess water out and due to the specialised material, it is fast drying.
As I mentioned before the scrubber can also be hanged up using the effective hook – this works particularly well in a kitchen and bathroom.
I hope this post gave you some helpful inspiration for natural and DIY cleaning solutions. Let me know if you used any of them in your home?
